Debt Collection

PSC is a Treasury-designated debt collection center providing a full range of debt management and collection services. In FY14, DCC collected over $265 million of debt with a work load of over 641,000 receivables totaling over $7 billion.

Details

PSC utilizes all applicable acquisition vehicles, recognized by Federal Acquisition Regulations, to meet the specific needs of each customer while adhering to a maze of complicated laws and federal regulations. We actively seek to reduce contract and acquisition costs through the use of competition and other tools, such as strategic sourcing vehicles, including Government-wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), General Services Administration (GSA) schedules, and local awards.

  • Custom letters, account statements, and billing statements
  • Lockbox deposits
  • Paper check conversion deposits
  • Referrals:
    • Delinquent accounts to commercial debt collection agencies
    • Debts to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for enforced collection
    • Debts to the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) for administrative offset
    • Debts to Treasury for cross-servicing
    • Debts to the Office of Inspector General for Medicare and Medicaid participation exclusion
  • Regulatory and ad hoc reporting
  • Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 1099C and 1098E reporting
  • Regulatory and ad hoc reporting, such as the Treasury Report on Receivables (TROR)
  • Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 1099C and 1098E reporting
